As a B.Com student, most of my understanding of business came through academics and classroom learning. I wanted to move beyond theory and gain real-world exposure, especially in sales, communication, and building client relationships.
During my internship, I gained hands-on exposure to Business Development and learned how to manage the client acquisition process. My responsibilities included prospect identification, outreach to HR professionals, presenting the platform’s value proposition, lead follow-ups, and converting prospects into active users. This experience gave me a practical understanding of the sales funnel, client engagement, and the importance of consistent follow-up in building long-term business relationships.
The guidance from my mentors and team helped me improve my client communication and professional approach. Their feedback and support helped me understand expectations better and continuously improve my performance.
Stay curious, take initiative, and make the most of every opportunity to learn. Getting involved in real projects, interacting with professionals, and taking feedback seriously can help you build practical skills and confidence beyond classroom learning.
